Exponential technologies are scientific and technical innovations that double on capacity or performance on each time period (usually spanning months or a few years), and have reached a degree of price-performance where they can solve everyday problems for the greater public. The most recognizable example that we see today is the computer. Those over age 40 remember those big clear-yellowish boxes with square graphics on a dark screen that not everyone could afford. Now our devices become obsolete in just a handful of years.

The present module will take you through these technologies and will illustrate the way in which they impact our lives. It will also provide you with insight on how to make the best use of them. You will become familiar with the concepts of Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, Internet of Things and Blockchain, and come across examples on how you are already using these wonders, maybe without being aware. Most importantly, you will gather awareness on the importance of constantly updating your tech knowledge and stay at the forefront of the race.
